OVERVIEW
Pondicherry has a plethora of things to do and see, including pristine beaches, historical buildings, French and Tamil housing, ancient monuments and churches, and a colonial atmosphere. this place will eventually take you down to the beautiful seaside promenade, where you can watch the Bay of Bengal splashing the famous Rock beach. Auroville, conceived as the "Universal Town," is a township where people from all over the world, representing diverse cultures and customs, come to live in harmony. Auroville is located in Tamil Nadu, about 15 kilometers away of Pondicherry. Mirra Alfassa, an Aurobindo disciple, founded it in 1968, and everyone at the Sri Aurobindo Society affectionately referred to her as "Mother.

Day 3: Auro Bindo Ashram, Manakula Temple, and Rock Beach
Reach early morning and check into the hotel Rest for a while, and have a stomach-full breakfast, then leave for our sightseeing Start with the very calming 'Aurobindo ashram' Give yourself a soothing start to the trip here. Meditate if you like. After Aurobindo Ashram we visit the Manakula temple followed by lunch Next, we will head towards the rock beach. Spend your evening at the rock beach, exploring the Gandhi statue, some famous churches, and the old lighthouse today. Walk around the white town at night or go clubbing. Sleepover

Day 4: Auroville sightseeing and Serenity beach | Departure back
Today we will start our day with a soothing sunrise by the Serenity beach. Return to your stay, freshen up, have breakfast, and leave for Auroville. Visit the very famous Matrimandir today, architecture that forms the ‘soul’ of Auroville town. There are many cafes at Auroville that we can explore today. After Auroville sightseeing, we will visit Serenity beach Later, in the evening you can hike the streets of Pondy

Day 5:Chidambaram,Pitchavaram and Paradise beach
Wake up early morning and leave for Chidambaram, breakfast on the way Explore the massive Chidambaram temple which is the geometrical center of the earth. After exploring Chidambaram we will enjoy boating in the mangrove forest of Pitchavaram. Post which we depart back to Pondicherry and have a late lunch. Evening we stop by Paradise beach for sunset and return back to the hotel for a rest 9.00pm we take Chaulukya Express back to Pune,Mumbai and Bangalore

Enjoy the scenic train journey
Day 7:Arrival in Pune,Mumbai

Discipline:
Participants are expected to follow the instructions of the travel leader and adhere to a code of conduct that promotes safety and respect for fellow travelers, guides, and the environment.
Any disruptive behavior that compromises the safety or experience of others may result in immediate expulsion from the travel experience without a refund.
Smoking and Drinking:
Smoking and consumption of alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited during the travel experience.
Violation of this policy may lead to expulsion from the travel without a refund.
Guidelines by the Volunteer:
Participants are required to follow the guidelines provided by the travel leader and any accompanying volunteers.
Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in disciplinary action.
Changes and Cancellations:
Papillon reserves the right to change the itinerary or cancel the travel experience due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather conditions or other factors that may jeopardize the safety of participants.
Participants will be notified of any changes or cancellations as soon as possible.
Health:
Participants are responsible for ensuring they are physically fit for the travel experience.
Any pre-existing medical conditions must be disclosed to Papillon before the travel.
Papillon is not liable for any health issues or injuries sustained during the travel.
Booking:
All bookings must be made online through Papillon’s official website.
Payments will not be accepted on the spot.
Cancellation Policy
We understand the disappointment of cancelling a trek after months of preparation. That's why we have a traveller-friendly cancellation policy.
Pending Payment Policy:
- Complete your pending payment 5 days before departure.
- Failure to pay the second instalment may result in booking cancellation and loss of advance payment.
- Boarding will be denied for non-payment, and the seat will be reassigned.
Cancellation and Refund Policy:
For Backpacking Expeditions and Long Treks (More than 4 nights):
- 30+ days before the trek: Full refund in a Papillon coupon or monetary refund with a 15% cancellation charge.
- 20-30 days before the trek: 80% refund in a Papillon coupon or monetary refund with a 50% cancellation charge.
- Less than 20 days before the trek: No monetary refund; 50% in a Papillon coupon.
- Less than 15 days before departure: No refund.
- If unwell: No refund; find a replacement if needed.
For Sahyadri Treks/Campings and Weekend Backpacking Trips:
- 30+ days before the trek: Full refund in a Papillon coupon or monetary refund with a 15% cancellation charge.
- 20-30 days before the trek: 80% refund in a Papillon coupon or monetary refund with a 50% cancellation charge.
- Less than 20 days before the trek: No monetary refund; 20% in a Papillon coupon if fully paid.
- Ticket transfer: 20% surcharge, subject to organiser's decision.
- No-show or illness: No refund; find a replacement if needed.
- Advance Booking amount: Non-refundable.
Important Note: Trek Insurance, train cancellation, and agent charges are non-refundable if the trek is cancelled within 6 days before departure.
*No refund 15 days before NY and Christmas events.*
If We Cancel a Trek/Trip:
- Natural calamities or unrest: No refund if the trip has started.
- Before departure: Full refund except for train and bus cancellations.
- Sahyadri treks: Opt for event shift or full refund if cancelled due to low participation.
- Medical emergencies or COVID: Regular cancellation policy applies.
- Transport issues: Alternate arrangements made; participants bear costs.
Trip Delays and Connecting Transport
Failures:
Papillon will assist with alternate arrangements for delays, but participants bear the costs.

Any extra costs incurred due to extension/change of the itinerary because of natural calamities, train/bus delays or cancellation, road blocks, vehicle breakdown, etc., are factors beyond the control of "Papillon" and its associates.
